This course is now approved as part of the education pathway for direct access into the 3rd Year of the University of Central Lancashire’s MSc in Dental Implantology (additional requirements and costs apply – please contact us for details.)

This course, led by Dr Fadi Barrak with visiting lecturers, in association with Quintess Denta Ireland, consists of a series of 10 full day intensive workshops comprising morning lectures and afternoon group discussions, case studies, practical demonstrations and hands-on sessions.

The course also includes a place on the “Introduction to Implant Treatment Coordination” for your Treatment Coordinator, Implant Nurse or Practice Manager. This runs in parallel with Module 4 on 18th May 2018

Successful completion of the course leads to the award of the VSS Academy Certificate in Implant Dentistry and full attendance also provides 80 hours of verifiable CPD.

The course takes you through the basics to the advanced; from practical workshops sessions practising implant placement on mandible models, to pigs heads, to cadavers and finally to placing implants in real patients under the supervision of a VSS-approved or your existing Mentor

    Informed consent and medico-legal aspects of implant dentistry; case assessment and treatment planning
    Practical workshop: treatment planning cases and discussion

  • MODULE 2: Basic sciences for Implant Dentistry – 23rd Mar 2018

    Surgical anatomy; bone physiology/bone implant interface; therapeutics
    Practical workshop: gowning up and surgical set-up

  • MODULE 3: Surgical skills for Implant Dentistry – 20th April 2018

    Surgery set up/aseptic technique; flap design; suturing
    Practical workshop: flap design and suturing

  • MODULE 4: Implant Design and Biometrics – 18th May 2018

    Aesthetic consideration; implant design; stent design
    Practical workshop: stent design and implant placement

  • MODULE 5: Bone defects and management –22nd June 2018

    Bone defects; grafting material; GBR principles; soft tissue management
    Practical workshop: use of bone substitute and membranes

  • MODULE 6: Restoring Implants – 20th July 2018

    Restoring implants; impression technique;
    Practical workshop: impression techniques and use of restorative components

  • MODULE 7: Occlusion – basic principles – 14th Sept 2018

    Occlusion – basic principles; occlusion – in implant dentistry; planning and sequencing
    Practical workshop: correct use of articulators, centric relation, occlusal prescription

  • MODULE 8: Grafting procedures – 12th Oct 2018

    Sinus lift procedure
    Practical workshop: sinus lift technique – lateral and crestal approaches

  • MODULE 9: CBCT theory and practice – 9th Nov 2018

    Radiology, CBCT and Planning
    Practical workshop: training session on CBCT and case discussions

  • MODULE 10: Complications and their management and OSCE-style exam –10th Dec 2018

    Complications; implant interface
    Practical workshop: communication skills, presentations and OSCE exam preparation.

Fees

Fees for this course are as follows;

£6,130 plus VAT*
To reserve your place, an initial non-returnable deposit of £250 plus VAT* is payable on booking (equivalent in Euros at the exchange rate on that day)

(*Equivalent in Euros at the exchange rate on the day of payment of deposit and further balances due)

A 5% early bird booking discount is available on all reservations made before 31st December 2017.
A further 5% discount of course fees is available to all delegates choosing to pay the fees in full prior to course commencement

Full fees are due at the start of the course, but by agreement can be paid in three monthly standing order installments.

The closing date for applications is Mon 19th Feb 2018
